I really like your comments, Brian. Another reference point for thinking about this should probably be Jensen Huang and his 5 phases of AI or his three massive platform shifts POV. On his earnings call yesterday, he said, "The world is undergoing three massive platform shifts at once. The first time since the dawn of Moore's Law." Then he explained this, referencing commerce, media, targeting and quite honestly, more that touches our ad tech world than one would expect!

Basically the three phases are: (1-compute & data processing (the move from CPU to GPU and the acceleration of computing speed), 2- the transaction layer like targeting and commerce (gen AI enabling current platforms to transform and optimize, creating a net new hyperscale infrastructure to replace the old). He used Meta's new foundational model for ad recommendations as an example, and 3-the rise of a new intelligence era via the agentic app layer): Agentic AI enabling things never done before like intelligent orchestration. This is where net new value creation can happen.

It would be interesting to see the LumaScape in these three buckets as I think it would do what you were suggesting--show the AI-first agentic innovators vs the platform/transactional optimizers vs the data infrastructure players so we can see (or perhaps imagine) the white space.

Happy to help!

I love this idea! Please turn it into a full post or something - love to collab
